Down on the farm, eggs are being weighed before packing. Scuttler workers are called in to act as weights used for comparison on the balance scale.
Educational outcomes...
Working mathematically: problem solving
Measurement: mass
Number: adding & subtracting
Measuring and interpreting measurements are skills used frerquently in everyday situations. Measurements are either made directly using units or indirectly by using one quantity to work out another.
Children need to become familiar with appropriate units of measure, recognise that in order to compare two things they need to use the same unit of measure for each and use strategies for comparing and using measurements.
Weigh To Go provides the player with experience in comparing and determining mass. the player uses a balance scale to compare the mass of three scuttlers, orders them from heaviest to lightest and investigates weight using a virtual balance scale.
