Working mathematically includes investigation, using problem solving strategies, applying and verifying, using mathematical language, inferring, proving and working in context. These fundamental skills provide the basis for success in all areas of mathematics.
By playing Shutterbug the player investigates the attributes of shapes and uses logical thinking and problem solving strategies to determine the sequence of shapes according to a given rule. Using conjectures (thoughtful guesses) the player changes the attributes of a shape so that a pathway is formed.
