April Fool's Day - is old, old, old

Is Kip a poisson d'Avril?

The real name of this special day for practical jokes is All Fools Day and is observed in many parts of the world.

It is probably a left-over from the time when the New Year began on the 25th of March and the 1st of April marked the end of the week’s festivities. It was always important that the week ended with a Flourish!

In France, someone who has been tricked is known as un poisson d’Avril or an April fish and in Scotland, the expression is gowk or cuckoo.
